About Our Adoption Process

Submit an online application now, then meet the dog you can’t stop thinking about in person! 

We prioritize the safety and well-being of our dogs. That’s why we ask all potential adopters to complete an application for the dog they're interested in before meeting them. 

Submitting an online application is non-committal - it just solidifies your interest!

HERE’S WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION…

STEP ONE:

After you complete our online adoption application, your information will automatically be entered into our records.

One of our volunteers will be in touch for an introductory call.

STEP TWO:

During our introductory call, we’ll tell you all about the dog you've applied for and ask you some questions. If it’s a good fit, we’ll schedule a time for you to meet the dog you’re interested in! 

STEP THREE:

Following the initial in-person meeting, we'll arrange a home check where our volunteers will confirm your home is appropriate for the dog and we'll introduce the dog to everyone in your family.

If you have other animals, we will usually have the humans meet the dog before doing a dog-dog meet.

STEP FOUR:

Once we speak with your references and determine it’s a good fit, you can take some time to decide if you’re ready to move forward with adoption. Once you’re ready, we will arrange for either you to pick up the dog or have someone transport them to you.

POST-ADOPTION:

Our volunteers will ensure a smooth transition between foster/shelter and your home!

You will have a designated volunteer whom you can contact with questions while your pup settles into your family.
